911 Call Nov. 17, 2007 - Stalker breaks in...

No charges in shooting of accused stalker / nwi.com (January 10, 2008 - cannot believe it took so long)

The dispatcher say, "she has a gun in her hand in the room" asks a few more questions and then says, "I have several officers on the way, they are coming." Dispatcher asks a few more questions and she says "calm down, we don't want to do anything too rash." (when the victim says she is going to shot).

He got to her within 2-3 minutes, it took officers about 7-8 minutes to get there.

Strange, she's still alive because she chose to arm herself.

He could have strangled her to death in the gap of time between the time he got to her and the police got there. Looks like she had a good friend looking out for her and felt she needed to have a firearm.

The audio is very clear and I thought she, the victim, handled it well.

This is some scary stuff - I posted this up about a month ago;

Citizen - arm thyselves...

The gun-grabbers have not done a lot of squaking about this one!

I could not imagine what was going through this poor girls mind...

Oh God... How painful to even listen to. So proud of her! Lee just said, she should have shot his azz through the bedroom door but I don't know if most of us could do that.

Very moving Pandora.

I thought for the panic, she handled it very well. I had somebody attempt to break in my house in the mid 90's. They got as far as my dinning room window when I saw the guy attempting to come through the window and my dog took off to get him, he ran. When I called 911, I couldn't talk for about 30 seconds. I never met the guy before, had no a clue who he was but he WATCHED me and knew I was alone. I don't think he had a clue my dog had a mean streak. Who knows what could have happened had I not had a dog.
I was a police dispatcher at the time and it is surely different on the victim end.

I didn't realize this was a repost, my apologies.

No need to apologize - I think things like this should come back around every so often to make people think about what they would do in certain situations. I know it has made my family think of what to do!

Wow, that was absolutely chilling. Kudos to her for not being a victim.

The Reverend has been leading an effort to close all the gun shops around Chicago and has even talked about targeting Indiana. I went to one of his rallies and he said that if his group can't stop the shops from selling guns then he's going to get congress to control the sale of ammunition. This tape proves that we MUST protect our 2nd ammendment rights! We MUST be allowed to defend ourselves in our own homes!
