It's called abortion.

Besides, apparently it was only the grandmother who objected, and not the parents. Sucks to be her.

Have you met my friend Cowgirl? You and she could rule the world if you tried hard enough.
You know.. I was just about to mention abortion.

How's this for another scenario... Sady, let's say you are a devout Christian and your 14 year old daughter is 6 1/2 months pregnant. She is suddenly very sick and the doctors tell her that she has a 70% chance of living if she has an immediate abortion. She decides she would not want to force the termination of her unborn child's life and be damned to eternal hell and you support her decision. Oh but wait, some do gooder does not think like you and forces your daughter to abort her baby. That's not their choice to make, is it?

I've read a little about the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Life being in the Blood but Blood Cells are in the blood and Chemotherapy wreaks havoc with those and yet Chemotherapy is acceptable to do but Blood Transfusions are not. Seriously - is that because Chemotherapy just deals with the blood you already have and Blood Transfusion is introducing new/foreign blood into the body? Anybody know?

What kind of a stupid comment is that? Just because I express my opinion, you think I want to rule the world.....

Why don't you team up your friend? You could start with eliminating free speech.

If you are referring to me as her teammate, I only quoted her post because she mentioned abortion and it was what I was about to post. I was serious in my post about the scenario involving a strong belief of the Christian faith. Seriously, do you want the government and/or the medical industry to have the final say in folks having mandatory abortion?

Dearest, I have not even squelched your free speech, let alone eliminated it. I simply disagreed and gave you my reasons. It is YOU, my dear, who has issues with free speech, not I.

Again, get over yourself.

She would have the abortion and hate me for it later. At least she would be alive to hate me.

Anyway, Sadysue is embarrassed (as she should be) for jumping the gun and going off on some silly tangent. We merely pointed it out to her.

No, no, no... you missed the point. If you agreed to the abortion with the hopes of saving your daughter than that you mean you aren't a devout Christian and it's a moot point because you aren't trying to think like someone of faith. I said, "Let's say you are a devout Christian..." that would mean you believe it is wrong to willfully abort the unborn and that the sin would result in eternal damnation. You would not want others to force you or your daughter into eternal damnation.

Disagreeing with someone and insulting them are two different things.

I don't have issues with free speech, I have issues with letting children die. If you disagree with me that is fine. If insulting me makes you fell better, that is fine too. I'm a big girl.

And, I am more than open to hear others opinions on this case.
