Canadian seal hunt
I thought this horrific annual harvest was over and done with years ago.....

No observation permits issued for start of Canadian seal hunt

Observers and journalists will not be able to document it because they were not issued permits by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

Why is it horrific? Because they are so cute? Should they only be allowed to hunt ugly animals?

Yeah they are cute but it is painfully obvious to most people of the world as being overtly cruel, wasteful, and just plain "wrong" on so many levels, polls show that the majority of Canadian citizens oppose the yearly slaughter, (with the exception of the Maritimes provinces), yet it continues nonetheless. How and why does the government justify ignoring countless studies proving there are no economic benefits or viability to the hunt?

Coulda used a hunter today on Radio Station Road. Five deer came running out of the woods and darn near hit me. Then, some type of springer spaniel ran across the road, chasing them. Poor sucker, he was running outta gas quick.

As we passed where the deer crossed, another dog was coming to the road and ran in circles, looked lost.
