Maybe this will be Absolut's next ad.

ON EDIT: Just tripped across this. Absolut is sorry and apologizes.
The Absolut vodka company apologized Saturday for an ad campaign depicting the southwestern U.S. as part of Mexico amid angry calls for a boycott by U.S. consumers.

The campaign, which promotes ideal scenarios under the slogan "In an Absolut World," showed a 1830s-era map when Mexico included California, Texas and other southwestern states. Mexico still resents losing that territory in the 1848 Mexican-American War and the fight for Texas independence.

But the ads, which ran only in Mexico and have since ended, came as the United States builds up its border security amid an emotional debate over illegal immigration from their southern neighbor.

It's okay. You are not alone. In fact, if there's absolutely nothing wrong with you then you are probably on the wrong planet. For the rest of us, let's celebrate this gift called flaw. It's what makes us interesting.

But if you are going drink Vodka, don't know why anyone would........... Why drink Absolut?

There are alot of products and companies that I'd rather not use if had the choice.

Jiffy Lube
Starbucks
Leatherman
Best Buy ect...

I'll just add Absolut to that list, it has nothing to do with not seeeing who the real problem is..... I think most here already know that and call for changes to be made at that level already.

...with me. I think it reasonable to ALSO object to their marketing. I'm just pointing out that they are a mere business, tying to sell a product to as many people as possible which is what our politicians tend to focus on a bit too much. W and Clinton and both chambers of congress have done far more to make that add come true than the add it self.

I'm all for objecting when anyone goes too far.

do you or do you not find the poster offensive and or short sighted on Absolutes part ..... if you want to advertise your booze do you have to use a contentious political message ...... with the Reconquesta movement, and some saying the Mexican't s are going to re assimilate SW US via illegal immigration ..... by just burying the locals in Mexican'ts ....

and hey if it is just a silly map, not a political statement .... how about a map of world in the 1890's showing how many colonies Britain had @ the height on its Power ....
