Their establishment, their rules. Atleast that is the way it is suppose to work.

Some dining atmospheres don't lend themselves to screaming kids. The owner may lose business from it, either by necessity or principle, but it seems to me it's his/her choice to run the restaurant the way he/she wants.

The government is supposed to intervene and establish a law that states "no children under 6" permitted. I'd prefer no one under 21, but there ya' go.

Well, if a restaurant DID ban children, it would be because you are outnumbered, and I doubt they would care if you are upset.

That said, business owners should have to right to refuse service to anyone they want, for any reason.

I like it. I can take my family to the places that want to serve us. mAlice can go to the kid free places.

And it didn't even take government intervention. It's amazing what the free market can do when they are allowed to do it.

i don't disagree with you. and I certainly don't diagree with the business owner's right to refuse service or ban anyone they want. On the few occasions that I get to go out without the piglet in tow, I would probably go to a "no children allowed" restaurant myself.

I guess what would bother me is if it's a restaurant that we had been going to for a while and then one day to show up and suddenly not be allowed in.

No, we tried that with smoking, remember? The non-smokers didn't like the option of going to non-smoking restaurants. So I suspect someone will complain about this business owner's decision and file a discrimination lawsuit.
