No. EVs are charged primarily overnight. This is perfect for electrical utilities, because this is the time when they have surplus capacity available. In fact, a large population of EVs would serve as a "load leveler", allowing the power plants to operate with less fluctuation between high peak demand and low off-peak demand, which would make them run more efficiently.

In all seriousness.... I don't do that often....


I examined the reported milage ratings for the available hybrids that had a gasoline counterpart and the milage ratings of gas-electric vs. gas only doesn't seem to come close to paying for the 4k-10k addition in price for the damn things.

not everyone drives 100miles a day... studies show that an american drives an average of 20miles to work.... from what i know thats why the volt has only a 40 mile range on batteries....
