Probably hog, which 7.62x39 would be on the lower end of the scale of power for a cartridge to hunt them with.

The first thing my dad tought me when handling a gun - KEEP THE SAFETY ON UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT. If Grandpappy should have kept his safety on, grandson would probably be still alive.

They're also great for small deer, and with a five-round magazine they are legal for hunting dear with in most states.

Agreed and I think an SKS is a great gun for someone on a budget that wants to get into deer hunting. Can certainly be had for less than the AK knock offs.
