I'm a big fan of Blackwater, and mercenaries in general. They don't have to play by the bull#### rules that bind our military men and women, and their bosses aren't trying to get re-elected. I think hiring Blackwater is one of Bush's smarter moves.

Don't know anything about the money being asked for but the circumstances surrounding the crash have been investigated and Blackwater received a good deal of blame from both the NTSB and Congressional Oversight Committee.

The part I find perplexing with the whole deal (and probably supports your greedy contention) is that the family of the one crash survivor that could have been rescued if procedures had been followed (he died an estimated 12 hours after the crash from exposure and his injuries) doesn't seem to be part of the suit. I guess maybe he had no family.

I don't really put a whole lot of stock in those people. They're part of the bureaucratic nightmare that our government has become and why nothing gets done.

Yes, they get paid well...but that is because they are truly volunteers. 99% of them are our military veterans, and are risking their lives to fight for our foreign policy.

They bridge the gap between combat tested vetereans and the scrubs the military is forced to take in to meet "recuitment goals".

And OP, I don't know how anyone can say that Blackwater is against the troops. As was pointed out 99% of them are former military and alot of them are former hard chargers and or SF.

Though, I guess I should admit that I am one of these military contractors that I am defending.

But still...why would anyone argue against volunteers that support the country just as hard as they did when they wore the uniform not so long ago?
