WTF? This company will do anything to avoid supporting the troops.

I read the whole posted transcript. Now,you want to explain why you think there's a problem?

newsobserver.com | Use of Islamic law urged in suit
"RALEIGH - To defend itself against a lawsuit by the widows of three American soldiers who died on one of its planes in Afghanistan, a sister company of the private military firm Blackwater has asked a federal court to decide the case using Islamic law, known as Shari'a.The lawsuit "is governed by the law of Afghanistan," Presidential Airways argued in a Florida federal court. "Afghan law is largely religion-based and evidences a strong concern for ensuring moral responsibility, and deterring violations of obligations within its borders."
If the judge agrees, it would essentially end the lawsuit over a botched flight supporting the U.S. military. Shari'a law does not hold a company responsible for the actions of employees performed within the course of their work."

There is no "problem", it just shows to what extent this sleazy company will go in order to not be held responsible for the deaths of those soldiers. Holding that Shari'a law applies to this lawsuit is BS.

Okay, well those stupid greedy women shouldn't be able to sue anyway. They remind me of those 9-11 widows - ghoulish broads trying to cash in on their husband's death. It's disgusting and you'd think they'd be embarrassed.

This kinda says it all;

Quote:
EP: Here's, but here's the glitch. That contract was flown in Afghanistan supporting, under operation and control of the U.S. military. Um, and uh, you know, the trial lawyers try to characterize it as a, uh, air taxi, air charter for hire. It's impossible to fly an FAA Part 135 mission there, because there's no nav[igation] aids, there's no flight service station, there's no published approach procedures, there's no radar control. There's none of those things, none of those elements that you would expect to have in a FAA-sanctioned organization. That was a battlefield support mission, flown on a battlefield, in a foreign country.

Like what does this have to do with the case:

Quote:
The company's chief counsel is Joseph Schmitz, who served as Defense Department Inspector General from 2002 until he left to join Blackwater in 2005. He's the son of John Schmitz, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California who was expelled from the far-right John Birch Society for "extremism," and the brother of Mary Kay Letourneau, a former schoolteacher who served several years in prison for statutory rape involving a teenage student to whom she's now married.

Joseph Schmitz is also a member of the Knights of Malta -- a Catholic military order that was involved in fighting Islamic rule of the Holy Land during the Crusades.

Why would the widows not sue? I would if my spouse died under the circumstances that are alleged. They are probably looking for someone to blame. Was it neglect or bad luck? Let the evidence speak.

They will have to show gross negligence on Blackwater's part to be awarded damages. If they can't they won't collect a cent.

Give them their day in court.

Under Shari'a or within our judicial system?

Looks like Blackwater is just trying to save its butt.

Well sure. The Commies HATE Blackwater because they're a private military corporation. They're effective and make a profit, so they are hated. I don't blame them for doing whatever they can to fight this ridiculous greedy lawsuit.

contractors...

...that carry weapons should not exist in our force structure. This issue is the inevitable result of yet another poor Bush admin strategic view; hide the truth, the cost and the problems from the American people.
