Officials say a 19-year-old man faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a Prince George's County police officer.

Police say Ronnie Lionel White of Laurel was the driver of a pickup that struck 39-year-old Cpl. Richard Findley on Friday.

Police say Findley was monitoring the truck on Laurel-Bowie Road when several men returned to the vehicle. They rammed Findley's cruiser during an attempted traffic stop, then hit the officer when he got out of the cruiser.

Findley, a 10-year member of the Police Department, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.



Police found the truck at a nearby apartment complex. They say White was among four people taken into custody for questioning.

Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman, said authorities are investigating the incident. He says additional arrests are possible.

Findley is survived by his wife and two young children.

This fine officer killed by a punk . The court will be alive with parents and Grandparents telling us how this punk was really a nice guy who loved his grandmother and was an asset to the community, right up to the time he decided to steal cars and kill police officers.

No they won't because his punk a$$ killed himself in jail. Guess the guilt of what he did finally caught up to him. As I sit at the funeral for a friend and coworker of my husband, I will have to smile a bit knowing that POS is DEAD!!!!!

they are expecting over 3,000 people at the services on Wednesday and Thursday, (the church only holds 900 people), we are taking one of our trucks on Thursday to the funeral, we have to be at High Point High School at 8:30AM. The procession should be a long one from Beltsville to Davidsonville.
