You may not see it, but the NAACP has already chimed in on this. It doesn't matter what race the person was who is responsible for the inmate's death, the inmate was African-American, the dead police officer was white and the "system" is run by "the man" who wants to keep the black man down

It has already been made out to be a race thing or else the NAACP wouldn't have commented.

Maybe I am wrong, but my husband told me that one reason they are looking into civil rights violations is because of "due process not being followed" Is this right or wrong?

Absolutely true. His civil rights were not violated because of his race. They were violated because he was denied a fair trial before getting the execution he deserved.

If that were all it was, it'd be the ACLU chiming in. They are for the rights of all criminals, regardless of race.

But see, there's a flaw.

White was a criminal awaiting trial.. he was killed while awaiting trial and in so 'denied his civil rights'. That's a multi-million dollar award just waiting to happen

Findley, on the other hand, was a cop on duty, he hasn't been denied anything, or at least not his civil rights. He wasn't awaiting trial for murder just waiting for the end of his shift. That's worth whatever his county life insurance was good for, and any owed pay, and MAYBE the cost of a funeral.

Nothing his family can sue anyone for, whereas White's family has the county Sherrif, the Correctional Facilitiy, the County, the State.. They have ALL kinds of people they can sue.

Now White's family maybe able to sue Findley's family for the proceeds of his life insurance and his owed backpay too, yanno since it was Findley's dying that led to their child getting arrested and being denied his civil rights.
