If they'd have filed the proper paperwork, the nanny state would not have needed to nanny them.

Well, it's not like they changed the date lately. State Fire Marshall only requested a 10 day notice.

I agree, in my neighborhood, the people that live in the houses on the water go all out with fireworks, it's almost like a competition to see who has the better display and it gets better every year. The beach gets packed with people and it lasts several hours. Not only that we can see the fireworks from the North Beach area and the eastern shore. I'd rather watch this than go anywhere else.

I think its stupid that anything but sparklers are illegal in maryland. This just popped into my head.

Joe Dirt: So your gonna' tell me that you don't have no black cats, no roman candles, or screaming mimis?
Kicking Wing: No.
Joe Dirt: Oh come on man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
Joe Dirt: You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?
Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones maryland allows me to sell.
Joe Dirt: Well that might be your problem, it's not what the government likes, it's the consumer.

That rule changed several years ago. Ground based fireworks are allowed. Haven't you noticed the fireworks stands on the side of the road or the displays set up in WalMart and Food Lion. Granted, most of the cool stuff is still illegal, but there's more than sparklers.
