Funeral Pictures from Beltsville....

We attended the funeral today for Beltsville Volunteer Firefighter and Prince George's County Police Officer Cpl. Richard Findley. We attended the procession with Rescue Engine 40 and Utility 40. Chief 40 was there also. Units from Brandywine, Clinton, Baden, Accokeek, Marlboro, Bowie, Ritchie, Silver Hill, Hyattsville, Capital Heights, Bladensburg, Laurel, Branchville, College Park, Riverdale Heights, Berwyn Heights, Glenn Dale, West Lanham Hills, Beltsville, Chillum Adelphi, Greenbelt, Laurel Rescue and Bunker Hill from Prince George's County were there to salute our fallen hero. Also a good showing from the Charles County Sheriff's Office, Calvert County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police. Police departments as far as Ocean City, Maryland and Harrisburg, Virginia were in attendance. Over 500 police cars from all over the State of Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania were lined up in the town of Beltsville early in the morning. Here are some pictures from today and last night at the viewing.

The cematary is about 1 mile from my house.

prayers for his family.
People were complaining about the traffic on 214 being at a standstill, I think it is a very very small price for us to pay in honor of someone that chose to go out every day to do his part in keeping the citizens safer.

No way..... But the funeral started in Beltsville at 11AM, units didn't leave until 12:15PM. We were staged on Davidsonville Road at Thomas Swann Drive, and didn't see them until about 1:30PM almost 2PM. There were quite alot of people there, but I only drove to the church to drop off trash cans full of ice, then was at High Point High School for the remainder of the time, before departing to our standby spot in AA County. The church is right around the corner from the PGPD District 6 Station (Beltsville), and there were so many cop cars all over the place, I tried to take pictures but couldnt. Cpl/Vol. FF Richard Findley will be greatly missed... RIP Brother!!!!
