Dares Beach Road (7/3)

Anyone know what the story was as to a telephone pole being hit yesterday afternoon(7/3)?? Headed home about 230 and the road was clear, then went to run errands about 330 and SMECO was putting a new pole up, definitely an accident but there wasn't a wrecked vehicle there. Hard to believe in the space of an hour, an accident occurred, knocking a telephone pole down and cleanup was basically over and done with except for putting a new pole up.

I don't have an answer for you but that would possibly explain the brief power outage at our house at that time - we live really close to there. That does seem really quick for them to already be putting up a new pole if it was due to an accident.

They had about 15 Smeco trucks there when I passed through....It was a quick operation... They have been replacing poles in the area for the past couple of weeks.

Hubby saw it yesterday. Truck, white I think, ran off the road into a pole near Double Oak Road. The electric wires were laying in the road, Transformer was on fire.
