Want some torture with your peanuts?

A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®. According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline passengers. This bracelet would:
• take the place of an airline boarding pass
• contain personal information about the traveler
• be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage
• shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes

I'll bet they'll want you to pay for it too.

Paranoia run rampant.

Should the DHS and FAA R&D people be looking at items like this? Yes! It is their job to look at all technology. R&D does not make policy, they research options.

Does it mean they want to put them on all of us? Hardly.

I could see them using these instead of the flex cuffs they currently use to restrain violent and/or drunk passengers.

Don't stop with the airlines!

These should be available for kids; restaurants, movie theaters, and stores should be required to hook children up upon entry. If a parent doesn't comply then they should have to wear it. When their brat doesn't shape up or receive correction we can shock the baby momma instead.

Oh, Andy?

You have to question the level of thought that went into this article by the Jeffreys when they say "Clearly the Electronic ID Bracelet is an euphuism...." Any idea what the lefties mean by this term? Hey, Andy. What does "euphusim" mean?

BTW: I do know what it means and it's not appropriate in this context.

Only if you're as superficial as you've proven yourself to be in your posting choices.
