She's 18 now, in July '08. The crash was in June '07. That means she was 17 at the time of the crash. Age at the time of the offense is the deciding factor, not age at the time of sentencing.

She has 12 years backup time if she doesn't complete the Juvi sentence. Since she couldn't stay off pot and meth while awaiting sentencing, there's a great chance she'll fail the Juvi program and will be put in "grownup" prison.

She won't be a little hottie anymore when she gets out of this.

Understand. But most Juvi sentences (and I'm sure it's state dependent) end at the age of 18 or 21..

Hope they have the follow up story on here when she fails and goes to big girl prison.

LOL I agree but its amazing that younger people dont have to pay that much for MURDER!

If this is true, why isn't Mike Skakel in juvi? is it age discrimination to not allow 40 and 50 year old men in juvi? (just in case it was't apparent)

He appealed his conviction to the Conneticut Supreme Court on exactly those grounds. He lost.
