Tony Snow, Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Anchor, Dies at 53

Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, has died after a long bout with cancer. He was 53.

A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years.

Snow joined FOX in 1996 as the original anchor of FOX News Sunday, and hosted Weekend Live and a radio program, The Tony Snow Show, before departing in 2006. A sometime fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh, Snow said he loved the intimacy of his radio audience.

I was surprised when Tony took the job of press secretary for a President he had criticized so often. The man had class.

RIP and prayers for the family.

Sad, indeed.

Didn't Ari Fleisher have some sort of illness as well when he left the position prior to Snow?

It would be hard for someone not to admire Tony Snow. A tremendous loss to our country.

Oh,no!

I loved Tony Snow! He was a great, great man.

I just turned on the TV and the computer this morning and I am stunned. I knew he had colon cancer, and the treatments and was in remission. But I got worried a couple of weeks ago or so when I heard he cancelled an appearance again.

It's really a great loss - he was just a great guy all around.

Tony Snow ... damn.

That's too bad. I actually liked him.

They just played back his interview with David Gregory.

RIP Mr. Snow. Prayers for his family. He was a good American.
