There's not a jury in the land that would convict the dad, and prosecutors come up for re-election. Were they my children, Mr. Bell would face no charges; little point in trying a dead man.

Yeah, leaving him breathing was a big mistake, IMHO. Roomie, he gets an incidental beating. If your roomie brings home two screaming children "early in the morning", you one of two things, a part of the problem, or part of the solution.

If you were not on the line with 911, or helping Dad separate this scum from this mortal coil, your part of the problem. I'm saving my kids? You got two choices, becuase I am by god coming through.
