They found him hiding in the top of a closet because grandma scolded him earlier in the day.

rule of thumb with a lost child....... parents/or who ever should search house top to bottom before calling the police

Its in a SAR book!!! But I can only imagine the panic that could go thru a parents body when their child is MIA

The officer said the house had been searched. Not well enough I guess.

But I gotta admit I probably would have slipped on looking in the 'TOP' of a closet. Heck I was hell on wheels and I never even tried that one.

Cool. I'll haul the boys up. They live up there in Drum Point anyway.

I took the boys over a couple of times for a St. Mary's Sheriff's K-9 Demonstration. They had a ball.

Last time there was some confusion on the schdule. It was put on by the 4-H club. Me and the boys were the only ones that showed. Was cool though. The boys got some good 1 on 1 time with the officers/handlers.

oh sweet you have kids?????!!!!! we love kids to come out... gives the dogs a chance to work and get use to them

My daughter did it to me. She was two. I have pictures to prove it. Problem was, she fell asleep after hiding up there. Took me awhile to find her.

So what do you do? Tell the people (Kids in this case) to go hide and then track them. Now my boys would be all for that.

talk to them about how the dogs work... walk them to where they will hide and tell them what to do when the dog gets to them.... great times

Cool. I'll be looking forward to seeing a post or something next time your folks gear up for that.

I think when we went to the Sherriff's Dept. demo they had an Explosives dog, a Narcotics, and then a Patrol dog. No SAR dogs as I remember.
