Should Fatties be barred from waterparks?

An 11-year-old girl was hurt on a water slide at Rapids Water Park the day before an incident on a different slide sent a family of four to the hospital. In both cases, riders' weights are being eyed as causes.

Water park accident was 2nd of week

maybe not barred from the park as a whole, but it might be a fairly good idea to put some size/weight limits on the rides and attractions that could be of danger.

Maybe the kid is over weight for an 11 year old, but I'd hardly say she was so obese that she shouldn't be allowed to ride a water slide

I'm sure that makes her feel really good too.

"Sorry your fat, you can't be a kid.. Now go eat some more at the hot dog stand because that's about all you're gonna get for the 40 bucks you paid to get in here"...

Mom and Dad could lose a few pounds. Still, I don't think they are morbidly obese either

Such a hard call.. So many Americans mirror that family and their weight. Safety first at any rate and if someone is pushing 300lbs, I wouldn't let em' on a shared inflatable water ride.. I wouldn't get on one with a big un like that either.

THey say one person was above the singles weight limit, I don't think it was the 11 year old.. but the 280 pound dad.

The other family.. 2 kids, a teenager and an adult, exceeded the 700 pound weight limit.. If a sign is up telling you the weight limit, the park shouldn't have to take you aside and tell you or weigh you.

thanx for the laffs. It is very sad and effed up, yet huhlarious at the same time. I don't think Fatassess, as is I assume the PC term, should be treated with no more regard than a heroin or crack addict. Put down the big mac, man!

If she's so fat that she is prone to weight related water slide injury, then she should not be allowed on the ride. My 13 yr old is regularly mistaken for someone much younger, because he is of short statue, and youthful good looks, like his mama. Should one, because you might inflame his napolean complex, ignore the actual physical reality of the situation, or say hey...You are to big (or too little) to bet on this ride....

In some newer cars the passenger side airbag will deactivate based on ones weight. I find that very disconcerting.
