lets look at that for a moment.

lets pretend that every adult in that church service had a gun strapped to their side, and as a criminal you (not saying you are, just putting you in the place of one for a moment) decided that you were going to go in somewhere and rob everyone of their cash, and the offerings that they gave.

now, you have a shotgun, and you have a choice, rob the liberal kum By ya church of Christ where you know nobody has a gun, or rob the St. Johns Church of Christ where you know the chances are that everyone has a gun.

where you going to go?

my theory is that having a gun and people knowing you have the gun does not require you to pull it out and have a good ol boys western style shootout in the street, but it does make you less of an inviting target when it comes to crime.

so, yes, if everyone in that church had a gun, Im pretty sure his decision, unless based on suicide, would have been different when deciding to walk in and start shooting.

While I'm sure that wasn't your intent, that's an excellant point. Doubt if it would have prevented a shooting, but it migh have prevented a second victim.
It was great there were armed church members in CO. last year during a similar incident
