Hard to tell, those guards probably would not hold 80,000 lbs. of truck, going at speed limit.

Tragic event, neverless.

...but was it loaded? It didn't hit dead on, it couldn't, so, it's less force than that. I mean, there are jersey walls everywhere. It's not common for trucks to go over the damn things. This can't be the first tt to hit the wall on the bridge. Can't be.

Serious. I wonder if losing the wheels was the straw that broke the camels back? I smell a story for some enterprising reporter wannabe and a law suit for some up and coming ambulance chaser!

...does Earnhardt have to do with this? He didn't go through a wall.

Certainly, there was tremendous force in this case. Certainly, the braking force of the trailer would have helped. Maybe not. Maybe they came off after the impact and the truck simply fell 'out' of the wheels?

Hubby just called, he was headed to PinTail Point for a sporting clays shoot and hit the traffic at about 10:00 and JUST got to his destination after sitting in traffic for 2 hrs.!

That poor truck driver, the only thing I can think of is he fell asleep going across the bridge. My Uncle drove for Overnight for 25 yrs. and he was all the time having a hard time staying awake during his routes.

My he rest in peace and prayers to his family and all the other people that were involved!
