No, dear, but they have peacekeepers and extreme authority over all their member countries. I'm sure if the UN tells Russia/Georgia to knock it off, they will comply.

I heard this am that Russia has told Georgia for the last decade NOT to invade or else. Georgia pushed their luck and got the smack down. WTF were they thinking??

The separatists were attacking Georgia constantly. BBC's mentioned it a number of times. Georgia struck back at the separatists and Russia moved in. Now we know why.

It's a power move by Russia. They've been backing the separatists who've been attacking Georgia. Putin is a tyrant, and I'm sure he had the whole thing mapped out. He's trying to restore the Soviet Union of old.
