Police Ignorance In News Again!

Buffalo Police batter their way into wrong house : City & Region : The Buffalo News

Armed with a battering ram and shotguns, Buffalo police looking for heroin broke down the door and stormed the lower apartment of a West Side family of eight.
The problem is that the Wednesday evening raid should have occurred at an apartment upstairs.
And, that’s only the tip of the iceberg, according to Schavon Pennyamon, who lives at the mistakenly raided apartment on Sherwood Street with her husband, Terrell, and six children.
Pennyamon alleges that after wrongly breaking into her apartment, police proceeded to strike her epileptic husband in the head with the butt end of a shotgun and point shotguns at her young children before admitting their mistake and then raiding the right apartment.

Police said no arrests were made in the subsequent raid at the upstairs apartment.

There should have been some arrests made of the police officers who assaulted her husband, But I guess we can forget that, cant we?

Reminds me of some thing I listened to on the scanner a few years ago.

Apparently a couple had been been argueing & fighting throughout the evening. Things turned worse and the female called her mother in Georgia. While on the phone with her the male pulled the weapon. Female got off the phone and the mother calls local authorities who respond. Local authorities were then dispatched.

Police were dipatched to 4321 "D" Such & Such Rd. for a Domestic Violence call. Male holding female at gunpoint.

Police get on the scene and surround the residence at 4321 "D". Once a perimeter is set up. They call dispatch and have them call in via telephone and asess the situation and tell the occupants to come out one by one, female first hands in the air and unarmed. Dispatch does this, calls the officers on the scene back and says the female is on her way out.

Several moments go by, all is quiet. Officers call dispatch and confirm he made the call. Dipatch advises he did. Officers tell him to do it again, which he does.

A few more minutes transpire and the officers again call dispatch to confrim he made the call. He advises the female has told him twice she was on her way out.

Well the officers then advise dipatch to call yet again. "Tell the female to come out." Dispatch advises Ok.

About this time another officer that has taken up a position on the perimeter comes up on the radio and says: "Hold on, Some lady keeps coming out of 4321"B" and I have to keep telling her to get back inside."

He does this, tells the lady to get back into 4321"B" and do not come back out.

So dispatch once more calls the residence and the lady explains that the police keep telling her to get back into the house becase they have a situation next door.

So all this time the police have the wrong place surrounded, the lady at the house next door who is the victim keeps trying to come outside and then gets ordered back inside.

I bet the guy inside who had the gun was standing there talking with the girl. "What do you mean they told you to come back inside?"

Had it been me I would have just said screw it and went to bed.
