Charles Rangel dropped out of school when he was 16 years old. The Army took him.

They used to. I got into the Navy with a GED.

I'm sorry, but if you didn't have the discipline to finish high school, you're not the demographic we need in the military.

That's the most full of sh!t statement I have ever read, I joined the all volunteer military at 17 as a high school drop out and 24 years later retired with my GED, an ungodly amount of specialized and advanced training on complex computer systems, College degree, Commissioned Officer, traveled the world and gained the discipline I needed to continue to succeed in life. Oh and cooperate America rewards me well for it. For those looking for a new beginning in life, you'd be amazed at what a great opportunity the military can be for a new service member and their families. Not to mention I have friends for life all over this world; something you'll never achieve with a career at Target!!!

And yeah death is a possibility, but I wasn't forced to enlist, it was a personal choice!!!
