They tell you to take a tylenol and see your dentist in the morning.
I know how painful toothaches can be, and of course they always start at night when dentists are closed. But we've always just waited until the morning and called the dentist. It really is amazing what some people call the medics for. I've heard them called for a lot less than a toothache.

I never could figure out what this was all about. I had either police or fire say something about a Man with a toothache on FDR Blvd. I never heard anymore about it.

I have a co-worker who is an EMT. He tells me stories of people requesting an am'blance for hangnails, just so they can get a "free" ride into town.

I guess I have been lucky. Never have been in an Ambulance. Other than for the Fire/EMS Appreciation days over in Leonardtown.

I do have a callous on my foot. Wonder if that would get me a ride around town???

That's an exact example that sticks in my head - my Ex was a medic and man, did I hear stories!

There were always the "regulars" who wanted a ride to a different part of the ghetto. They had to transport them to the hospital of the patients choice (within a reasonable distance), which of course was never the closest hospital. So these idiots would keep an ambulance out of service while others who really needed them had to wait. Typical feeling of entitlement in the Bronx.

That depends on what's causing the toothache. Sometimes there is an abscess that needs incision and drainage; however, that's still no reason to call the ambulance. :shakinghead:

Sometimes these calls are for homeless people and have no way to the Hosp.
