How long have they been dating? Were they planning on marrying before they knew they were pregnant? Do they believe they are soul mates? Do they believe they are forever in love?

If we don't know the answers to these questions, we really can't pass judgement on whether marriage is a good idea or not, can we?

A child needs a lot more than financial support from a dad. A well raised child needs two parents setting an example for stability in relationships, perseverance in adversity, demonstration of strong family values, etc., etc.

This is not to say a single parent can't raise a child, nor that all married couple meet these standards. But, if we're talking statistics here, what do the statistics show for crime rates, suicide, college completion, etc., for kids raised where dad was, at best, a child support check?

I have an opinion and I have based that on life experience. Am I judging the family? No. Teenage pregnancy happens. If I was judging, I'd be pointing fingers at the Palins and saying "what bad parents."
Yes, the stats are worse for teenage marriages and single parent families. But with strong family support, I am sure a child's chances at a good life are strong. My opinion is I do not agree with high schoolers getting married just because of a baby. And so far I am not impressed with Sarah Palin as I am not impressed with McCain or Obama.

I rather hope she doesn't let this interfere with her spot on the campaign ticket. How awesome would it be to have two options that are both historically significant?

Blah blah. Long story short, if she dropped out...the race would suck.
What planet do you live on? Nothing is private in a presidential election. And so what 'historically' if the nominee's are half black and a woman? Electing people who stand for what we want is more important than a "historic" option.

Blogs are NOT general opinion. You're missing the whole picture by reading OPINIONATED blogs!!! Why not stick to facts and LEGITIMATE news sources, not the MSM or some bloggers opinion.

I mean look at their credibility after the "Trig Paxon Van Palin is not Sarah's baby" reports.

Oh, don't go there!!! I'm sorry, you have NO RESPONSBILITY IN THIS? Oh, thats right, GIRLS ARE JUST IDIOTS AND ALLOW BOYS TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO BE ACCEPTED AND LIKED. I think you have some SERIOUS ISSUES!!! As far as I can see, yes, it makes him a man to be responsible and SINCE YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH to honestly think that it doesn't, you really are stupid. That is your problem, you spread your legs to early in life and weren't responsible and solely blame the guy for your stupidity.

It doesn't matter. What matters is they were both irresponsible teenagers that had consequences. So yes, when you spread your legs without thinking clearly, then you should do the right thing and either get married and have a two parent household or give the baby to a childless couple. My guess is, no, they aren't in love, they aren't soulmates, they are the typical hormonal teenagers that need to have parents to teach them the responsibilities and of life. AMEN!!!
