We were up in our cafe at work, watching this on CNN. I'm not sure what I'd do. I supposed I'd get in my car with all of my creatures and head inland. But if I wasn't able to get out of my home, I'd certainly die with my beloved animals.

Anyone that was ordered to evac and didn't, and are lucky enough to be rescued, should pay for fuel, time and services of the rescue team.

There was a coordinated plan for evacuations. They told Houston residents to stay hunkered down until this afternoon to let Galveston residents get off the island.

Strength of this storm don't matter, this is going to be a devstating tragedy.

They told us every storm that hit in Florida "If you're under a mandatory evacuation and you stay behind, you are on your own."

It is 1 mile per hour less than a cat #3 storm and could get stronger and those that stay are to write their social security number on their arm Fox is reporting.

There was something about oil and gas could double or triple within the next week or two. I didn't catch exactly what they said.... anyone listening that could repeat it?

Also, they have the first death - a man was cutting down a tree preparing for the storm and it fell and hit his 10 year old boy killing him.
