Well that is fine and dandy, but I'm just talking about a common sense approach to the Presidential voting process.. And Saturdays would be a better option then the Tuesday after the 1st Monday in Nov..

They would lose a lot of voters to golf, fishing and weekend getaways.

That's why it would be a common sense approach. Money makers missing the vote.

This reminded me of when the UAW negotiated a paid day off of work, on election day, for all of its members into its contracts with Ford, GM and Chrysler. I think the cost of that concession was a hundred million dollars for the big three. It is giving into the union's extortion tactics like that, that has made it almost impossible for the American car manufacturers to compete and has them all on the brink of collapse.

If people want to take the day off, that's between them and their boss. But, I wouldn't be inclined to pay them for it.

Look at the overhead that those auto makers now carry thanks to UAW contracts. They pay more in retired benefits than actual workers now??
Not a good business plan IMHO.

Would everybody need to take a day off work or just Dems. and whose going to pay for it? Another great idea by OB for his people with no thought on how much it would cost businesses and who would pay for it.
