I used to be more or less in favor of this, as it would increase the numbers of voters. It always bothered me that our country has such low voter turnout.

But the thing is - it's not really all that hard to vote, most of the time, and they keep making it easier with the expansion of absentee balloting.

Add to that that it is plenty clear that an enormous number of voters haven't the slightest idea who or what they are voting for. Ask you average man in the street who Obama's VP candidate is. A sizable portion won't be able to name him, but still plan to give him their vote. The same goes for the candidates for Congress. Can't name him, but plan to vote for the party.

And we want to EXPAND this? I say, keep it the way it is. If you can't be bothered to make an effort to vote, why on earth should the government give you a day off to do it?

Why would anyone need the whole day off to vote? It only takes a few minutes.

You obviously swallowed the "entitlement" pill that Osama has been passing out. The pill has not been approved by the FDA. This pill has many side effects to include but not limited to ...

1) Extreme mood swings especially at the name of "Dick Cheney"
2) Desire to take other peoples money for themselves...
3) I hatred towards "BIG" oil companies and "evil" executives.
4) A sudden need to receive goverment benefits like food stamps, housing assistance etc.
5) A strong belief that, even though goverment has proven itself to be a failure, the govererment will make me happy and secure..

6) A belief that you can not care for yourself in general and that the goverment must do it for you.

7) Unexplained symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases.

There is hope. Freedom from opressive goverment has been know to reverse these side effects. Also, personal responsibility has been observed to reverse some of these side effects.

Ha, yea after waiting in line for about an hour. I'll be prepared though, in my comfy 'standing in line' shoes
