General News - Calif. Supreme Court to take up gay marriage ban

Here we go again. Why can't the gays give it up? The MAJORITY of people don't want to approve of gay marraige. It was voted down in CA in 2000 and again in 2008. Thirty (30) out of Thirty (30) states that have had this issue put on the ballats over the years have all decided, in one way or another, against gay marraige.

It's a darn shame that in 2000 CA voted NO! Then 4 judges give in and decide it's OK. Then the people once again vote NO. Now a few judges get to decide again. It just doesn't make sense.

I say this issue should be put on a national ballot and be decided once and for all. I do not think it's right for gays to redefine Marraige. If they want to make up a new word like Gayraige or stay with the civil union thing, I think most Americans would let it be. To redefine marraige, is just not acceptable. This is not just my opinion, but the opinion of the majority of the citizens of this here United States. Amen!

judging from the vote that was cast,, I would say that the majority care.

why do the gays care if its not called marriage if whatever they call it brings the same legal means?

they could call it rumpage, and then they could be introduced as either a rumper or rumpee, depending one the role that would be traditionally held by husband or wife in the marriage.

Obviously most people do care. Look at the poll results. And, are the majority of the people who voted for Propostion 8 considered complete idiots in your book? Or could it be that you are not thinking like the majority of people in this country? In that case, that would make you the idiot, right?

Would you be okay if we took this a few steps farther? Let's say:

5 men and a woman
17 women and a man
2 kangaroos (female of course) and a man
7 men and a gay horse

I mean there are a lot of people out there being left out of this.

in this case it would make him the idiot, however, as history has shown more than once, not following the majority does not always make one an idiot.
for instance lets say there was one person at Jim Jones circle of love that decided that drinking the kool aid was possible not a really good idea at that time, so he didnt..would he be the idiot?

I have to agree....How can the majority of people vote on something, pass it and then some judge comes along and says no, I'm going to change the vote because the majority of people don't know what is right or wrong and I do...We just had a little election in this country....Suppose some judge came along and said I don't want Obama in there so I'm going to change it...
