For some reason I would have guessed you have postors of Perez Hilton and Bruno on our wall, not a beautiful, smart, friendly, strong woman like Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin said Friday she is resigning from office at the end of the month, raising speculation that she would focus on a run for the White House in the 2012 race.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate made the surprise announcement from her home in suburban Wasilla on Friday morning. She said she would step down July 26 but didn't announce her plans.
"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional lame duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.
"It is my duty to always protect our great state. With that in mind, my family and I determined that it is best to make a difference this summer, and I am willing to change things, so that this administration, with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future, can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success," she said.
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated at the governor's picnic in Fairbanks at the end of the month, Palin spokesman Dave Murrow said.
Palin was first elected in 2006 on a populist platform. But her popularity has waned as she waged in partisan politics following her return from the presidential campaign. Her term would have ended in 2010.
I support the speculation that she will run for Pres., I feel even some fiscally conservative Democrats are getting scared with what's going on under the current regime. I also think she learned a lot from running as V.P. and that some mistakes that were made will not be repeated. This could prove to be very interesting. I do not support all of her views but feel she would be much more fiscally conservative than the current spend until we are beyond bankruptcy party in charge now.. How about a V.P. of Michael Steele.. Just wondering in Huntingtown and getting tired of being scr$$ed.

I like Michael Steele a lot and would support him as Presidential or VP candidate. I would prefer to see him as the Presidential candidate in 2012. I really like Sarah Palin but the media will tear her up and many won't give her a chance because the liberal media and the freaks in Hollywood would preach against her to the people.

Really? Why? Is that a requirement? Someone should have told Obama about that one, I guess, since he obviously didn't finish out his senatorial term before running for President. Seemed to work out okay for him if not for the rest of us.

By the tine of the next election, we will be so broke and gas will be so high - the only people able to vote will be the ones getting a ride from ACORN or whatever alias they are using now.

I will be there even if I have to crawl my crippled up old @ss there.

I like this. She leaves Alaska as one of the few successful governors right now whose state is not on the verge of disaster.

Next, this gives her time to be with her family while gearing up for 2012, the calm before the deluge.

Next, the media sneering and dismissiveness of her plays right into her strength; her appeal as not just another slick pol. Once was another governor largely disparaged as an intellectual lightweight both from the left and the elite within their own party.

Nice move.

Non issue. Obama is on record as saying he wouldn't be running for potus when he won his senate race. Clinton did it as gov of Ark. Nothing of note her. If anything, she gets a point for being upfront about it and stepping aside so someone else can RUN Alaska instead of just using the office to do something else.

Steele is going to need to settle on what he actually believes in and what he's working for before he'll get that kind of national support. Unfortunately for him, he seems to be being consumed by the RNC power structure as opposed to setting his own course.

Grudgingly, I give Howard Dean and his 50 state strategery all due credit for putting his stamp on things and not just be a lackey of the DNC establishment.

Well, not many news stories are capable of knocking the Michael Jackson coverage off the news!

That's a GREAT point!

Something they'd rather do; attack Sarah than pick over Jacko's bones.
