If you anyone hasn't listened to her give the speech today, you should do so the next time it runs. She stated ALL the reasons for doing this today.

All the pundits are in a major kerfluffle about this. I think they discount her at their own peril. Greta Van Susteran said earlier that the pundits & commentators don't get her. But that's the point. Or the Point Guard, if you will.

I think this is a good move.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin all held office while running last year. That's not what I was asking about. Obama left the senate only after winning the election as was required prior to taking office as POTUS. This was the same as it was for GW Bush and Clinton. After watching her today, it seems that Palin decided not to complete her term because it was hot and she wants to get out of the kitchen. Even Ed Rollins (Reagan admin) said it was not the best move on Palin's part.

Non issue. Obama is on record as saying he wouldn't be running for potus when he won his senate race. Clinton did it as gov of Ark. Nothing of note her. If anything, she gets a point for being upfront about it and stepping aside so someone else can RUN Alaska instead of just using the office to do something else.

Maybe so, maybe not. Her term ends in a few months. She's just raised more questions by stepping down now. The "lame-duck" excuse doesn't hold water. There are a few states who's governors can't be re-elected (ie. VA). If we follow Palin's thinking, those governers should resign after being sworn in because they're lame ducks for their entire term. If Palin is planning on running for POTUS, she would've been better off complete her term. It's not as though the presidential election is next year.
