Carter: I never said Obama protesters were racist

Via Breitbart. Evidently the entire country, including the White House, misunderstood what he meant by “intensely demonstrated” when he said, “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.” That’s the money quote from the interview that aired on NBC on September 15 — just six days after Joe Wilson’s outburst and three days after the 9/12 Project’s massive rally in D.C. Compare and contrast the before and after below. I wonder which Obama aide was tasked with dialing him up and insisting upon this highly nuanced bit of revisionism. Rahm, you think? Or is this an Axelrod special?

I never said Obama protesters were racist

And he believes he was the greatest President evah!

Psychosis is a national epidemic. Now Lefties will be insisting that Carter didn't say Obama dissenters were racist. So we'll whip out the video, which they will promptly ignore, and they will merely repeat that Carter didn't say Obama dissenters were racist.

It's pretty sad when we normal boring citizens are alone in our counteracting of Leftist lies. The GOP doesn't seem to be inclined to address them at all. They're too busy criticizing Joe Wilson for properly responding to Obama's bogus claims.

Ya'll aren't racist, you just hate the One because he's black.

The Bill Clinton school of what "is" is.

Former President Carter's original statement was right on target, there were, and will be, a significant number of racists running around those "Tea Party" and other political events. His statement stands.

Amen Nanno, President Carter was just the one big politician that had the guts to speak out and say it.

Of course he was also one of the only white people that declared it.

Jimmy Carter is one white Man that stands for principles first.

And what are those principles, if he now goes out and says he never said what you insist he was justified in saying? Must be a real man of principles if he is so willing to backtrack and not stand behind his own (according to you, justified) words. What a role model for the rest of us!

I agree. I think people just grabbed onto a few points (as usual) and distorted them. A lot of people will never get over a black man being president. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

The Carter family were slave owners and Jimmy is trying to rid himself of the guilt that his familiy wealth came via the blood, sweat, tears, and deaths of slaves!!!

Listen to Jimmy Carter call Obama "that" Black Boy!
