Back in the day that was probably the most secure aiport in the world. If you can imagine walking by the ticket counters at BWI and looking up to see a sniper aiming at you, that was what it was like.

I can't imagine in today's world it would be much different.

most security is more fiction than fact

after 9-11, armed troops were placed in airports temporarily

you might have felt safer but you truly weren't

just as simple-minded Americans have been dupe by the military-industrial complex, they are now being taken for a ride by the security(terrorism)-industrial complex

i see more no-bid contracts on the horizon

You have NO idea WTH you are talking about.

Germany (where the FRANKFURT Airport is located) take terrorism, and security a lot more serious than we EVER have in the US.

Where we in the US were protected by soldiers with unloaded guns, with no ammo on their person, I can tell you as a fact that the Germans had ammo, and in fact had one in the chamber in every weapon they carried.

The snipers I speak of weren't there post 9-11, or post any terrorist event, they were pretty much always there as they were always expecting the next terrorist attack.

They knew the threat, and had many more to choose from than the Muslims at the time, and knew how to protect from the threat.

With that clown..you could have just stopped right there, Bob.

I recall my 'nervousness' as a soldier poked around in my briefcase in the Rome airport..poked around with the muzzle end of his evil-looking fully-automatic rifle....with his buddy standing next to him 'only' pointing his rifle at me....

In 1990.

In a story related to soldiers getting shot in Frankfurt Germany?? How many US soldiers have been shot in airports in the US exactly?

Yeah, that makes sense.
