This thread reminded me of the pantyhose days. I used to commute to DC. One hot day (like today and yesterday) I was sitting in back up on 301 and my A/C stopped working. It was near 100 degrees. Here I was, sitting in traffic, creeping along, trying to discreetly take the damn pantyhose off. I was so hot I thought I was going to explode.

Definitely in cooler/cold weather for most work attire or any formal affair (in any weather) I am a traditionalist, and think it is more polished looking. *Although, if you do feel that you want to go pantyhoseless in the summer (nice summer work dresses/skirts/capri's) at work- I HIGHLY recommend Sally Hansen | Airbrush Legs During these scorching summer months, I've gotten brave (at age 52) and have gone without PH at work. But I use this and have even received compliments on my "tan".

| A sundress and sandals is one thing, but the thought of putting bare feet inside a pair of $100+ closed shoes is just downright icky to me. I'm not much of a PH person anymore; I like the TH's better.

I rarely wear closed shoes in the summer or winter anyway. Most of my favorite styles nowadays are either sandal style or open toed.

| Ewww. I once had a teacher that had some seriously thick, coarse black hair on her legs - didn't seem to occur to her that it looked completely unkempt and DIRTY smashed in every direction under the nylon.

| I hate pantyhose. I think they were designed by the devil. I never wear them. In the winter if I wear a dress I sometimes where patterned tights (which have been popular the past couple of years.) But mostly I just wear pants in the winter because I hate being cold and pantyhose are uncomfortable and less warm then pants. |
