U-Va. to Stop Procedures on Dogs

The University of Virginia has announced that it will end the use of dogs in its medical school curriculum.

The university, which had used dogs in the class for at least 20 years, and announced the change after publicity about the issue prompted criticism from the community and animal welfare organizations and spurred a rift between medical students.
