Very surprising, that. I never would have thought we would even be in the top 100 nationally....

And to think that number is an average. I thought I was doing ok till I read that. Now I realize how poor I really am. Guess I will apply for food stamps tomorrow. Anyone know where the office is?

This one I agree with:

Anchorage, Alaska Metro Area: $71,490

You may be surprised to learn that an area outside the lower 48 is has one of the highest median incomes in the country.
I lived there for several years as a child and I still have family there. We went back to visit one year and I asked my Mom why the candy bars cost twice as much as they did in SC. She tried to explain the cost of living to me and I understood to an extent. I got my candy bar and I was happy.

The DC and surrounding areas are expensive to live in. We all know that. The salaries bring people in and keep them here.

Why do you suppose Malibu, Beverly Hills, etc, don't register? That's where all the brazillionaires live. Am I to believe we have more wealth in Lex Pk than they do where the median home price is around $3 million?
