RAMALLAH (Reuters) - A 21-year-old Palestinian woman has told authorities she was locked in a bathroom for the past decade by her father, who let her out only in the dead of night so she could clean their house.

So, her mother went 10 years without seeing her daughter? Something isn't right about that story.

Had a virus a few years back, but that was only 24hours or so that I was confined to the bathroom, cant imagine 10 years.

Palestinian's crazy like that. I remember seeing an article where a Father murdered his daughter because she had a pre arranged marriage and got caught talking with a boy. The picture was of the Police smiling with the Father as they held hands. It looked as if it was condoned (or they were gay) Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just saying.

Its the whole mid-east, Arabs & Persians are a different heritage, but you'll find a lot of the same in both cultures.

Its a continum, NOT all of them are the same, they range from their liberals/moderates to radicals.

You'll see stories of American Fathers that wouldn't let their daughters date until they left the home at 21, that doesn't mean every American is like that, huh?

But, the problem is, that whole continum has been shifting more toward the radical side for the last 100 years and its only geting worse.

Different cultures have different taboos and behaviours that is considered acceptable. Russian men kiss each other as freely as American men slap each other on the shoulder. Try standing in line with Italians, you'll have a new appreciate American concept of personal space. Arab men hold hands as they walk and talk with each other.
