| Israel has always has always had a huge pair. The US has always had a big influence on Israels affairs, not allowing for actions such as what took place yesterday. Last edited by Petter Solberg : 03-23-2004 at 10:51 AM. |

Anyone know what the U.S.'s official position on this is? Instead of taking notes, and formulating our own mission plan, or are we denouncing this behavior? I haven't seen anything, and don't have much time to peruse the news this morning. (God I hope we're not denouncing the destruction of terrorist leadership.) I wonder if Arafat's sphincter is bruised from clenching non-stop for 48 straight hours. He's gotta know he's next.

| "The international community roundly condemned the killing, while Israel's most important ally, the United States, criticized the move as a hindrance to peace but stopped short of condemning it." from cnn...

| You know what's funny? We get all bent out of shape having to ask the UN permission to defend ourselves, especially when they say "no". But isn't that what we do to Israel? Dunno - who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe Bush and Sharon are in major cahoots and Bush is only criticizing him for show. ![]()

| Israel has been doing the same thing every few years for the last 50 years and it has not got them anything yet. None of those so called leaders have ever had any real influence over the ones doing the bombing including Arafat. All killing them does is remove the few interfaces the outside world has within the palestinian community. Israel kills their people and then they kill Israelis and the world goes around as always. |

| I think that one need look no further than Arafat's reaction to the Israeli invasion of his compound to see that this tactic would be effective if it's properly utilized. Arafat went from "My life for Allah!" to "Hello, this is Arafat. Tell Mr. Powell I need to talk to him NOW! I'll take any offer the Israelis make, just don't let them kill me!" the minute the Jews started shooting their way in. He went from speaking on the streets to hiding under his desk (literally) in seconds. If the Israelis are serious about this approach, and continue the quick and efficient extermination of the terrorist leadership, you'll quickly see a real drop in volunteers to be in charge of anything that even remotely resembles a terrorist group. Israel will take hits from the International community and from hard-core fanatics, but what else is new. |

| >>He went from speaking on the streets to hiding under his desk (literally) in seconds. << Once again your talking about Arafat's reaction, not the reaction of those doing the bombing. If Arafat has ever had any direct connection to those doing the bombing, it was a long long time ago. As I said before, Israel has been bombing and executing palestinians and their leaders for the last 50 years, yet the bombs still go off weekly. How many years of doing the exact same thing, with no results, does it take before people stop praising you for it? |
