The fact is, some police are bad, on power trips, whatever.

Maybe some cops are. Maybe some citizens, like you are antagonist who try to push the limits to see if they can get a cop to do something illegal?

It's not an issue of the public feeling safe anymore. It's not an issue of the public being served and protected. We're in a police state where we can and will get charged with the smallest crime, and if there isn't a law for it, they will find one to charge you with. Cops don't know laws as they should, then people get arrested because they know more than the cops, but it's never a situation where both parties can learn something. It always seems to be the police arresting someone, then figuring it all out later.
You always have to look outside of the area you live in to find these stories which is comforting to me. You can't back up what you talk about and some of what you say is ridiculous. So what if a cop arrests someone for the "smallest" crime. If you are the victim of that crime, I bet you don't feel it's so small!

Who cares WHERE it happens?
What if those small crimes don't have victims?

Who's the victim in a jaywalking charge?

Did you know that victimless crimes constitute 86% of the federal prison population?

I've been the victim of a serious crime, and actual crime, and what did the police do to help me? Talked about a football game over the radio, joked with each other, and took their sweet time as I was trying to give a description. Only to never have the detective in the case call me back. Where was my justice?

How about me noticing police parked in handicap spaces just so they can "run inside"?

Because, as I'm sure you know, things like that are illegal....for us citizens.

Hell, even this pregnant woman was tasered because she parked in a handicap spot: Tiffany Rent, Pregnant Chicago Woman Tasered By Police, Files Lawsuit (Granted, she's big as a house, so it could be hard to tell if she was preggo. Not to mention she apparently torn up the ticket and threw it at the cop. But, it did all stem from her getting a ticket because of where she parked)

"Who will govern the governors? There is only one force in the nation that can be depended upon to keep the government pure and the governors honest, and that is the people themselves. They alone, if well informed, are capable of preventing the corruption of power, and of restoring the nation to its rightful course if it should go astray. They alone are the safest depository of the ultimate powers of government"

the poor mother of four who ran over the jaywalker because she didn't see them and didn't expect them to be in the lane where they weren't supposed to be crossing. Now society has to pay for that jaywalker for the rest of their live.

I don't believe you. You are not credible as you have revealed you have no clear understanding as to how the criminal justice system works, and you likely did not cooperate with the police because you felt giving them information would violate your rights as a citizen even though you are the victim. (allegedly)

See, another mis-representation like always. She didn't get tased because she parked in a handicaped spot at all. She got tased because of something else.

Really? You just keep putting your foot in your mouth.....

BOP: Quick Facts
Types of offenses:

Drug Offenses: 93,876 (48.2 %)
Weapons, Explosives, Arson: 30,930 (15.9 %)
Immigration: 23,407 (12.0 %)
Robbery: 8,217 (4.2 %)
Burglary, Larceny, Property Offenses: 7,435 (3.8 %)
Extortion, Fraud, Bribery: 10,775 (5.5 %)
Homicide, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnapping Offenses: 5,659 (2.9 %)
Miscellaneous: 1,681 (0.9 %)
Sex Offenses: 10,550 (5.4 %)
Banking and Insurance, Counterfeit, Embezzlement: 852 (0.4 %)
Courts or Corrections: 625 (0.3 %)
Continuing Criminal Enterprise: 509 (0.3 %)
National Security: 92 (0.0 %)

Weapons, explosives, and arson....15.9 burglary, larceny, property offenses, 3.8, homicide, aggravated assaults, and kidnapping, 2.9, sex offenses 5.4...I think I’m over 20% her fella which means you would have to be less than 86%.

Now, to say that drugs are a victimless crime is also ignorant. Do you have any clue how many violent crimes are related to the drug trade? Do you know how many robberies, burglaries, and other crimes have a nexus to drugs?

You really are an ignoramus.

Actually, quite the contrary. I know a guy that had pot in his car. Cop found it, stomped it out, and told him to leave.

Why is it such a bad thing to want to make sure these people who "protect and serve us" actually do that in a lawful manner?

I don't hate all cops, like some may try to point out, I hate liers and thieves, and when liers and thieves can hide behind a badge and get away with it, I have a problem.
You really don't make a lot of sense. While there are law enforcement officers who don't do the right thing, the majority of police officers are out here to try and help the public.

Your disdain for them probably stems from some lost dream of becoming one of them, but due to your drug use you can't pass the background so you hide behind your computer screen trying to cast a bad light on them.

The good news is everybody sees you for what you are; bitter and dishonest. The people in this community know that while not perfect; their law enforcement officers are hard working and care about the community they serve.
