Craigslist ropbbery gone awry. MD gun law fail

Quote:
The couple in search of a car found the sedan they wanted for sale on Craigslist for $4,000. They arranged a meeting Monday night on a street in Bolton Hill lined with 19th-century rowhouses.

But Baltimore police said both the seller and the buyer took guns to the transaction. And when one of the men who posted the ad drew his weapon and demanded money from the prospective buyer, police said his female acquaintance pulled her own gun and fired into the air.

"We understand that this was a terrifying, frightening situation, but when you fire a gun into the air, you become part of the problem," Guglielmi said of the female victim in Monday's Bolton Hill attack. "The best thing to is to be a good witness and call the police."

Police said the attackers escaped with $4,000 but no gun. Police arrested the victim's companion, Keyna Oduyoye, 30, of the 3500 block of Kings Point Road in Randallstown, charging her with two counts of illegal handgun possession and discharging a gun in a public place.

Police said she did not have a permit to carry the weapon.

"The best thing to is to be a good witness and call the police. A corpse makes WONDERFUL evidence! There is DNA, the wounds, all sorts of stuff not subject to the vagaries and inconsistencies of how many shots you fired and when you actually defended yourself and all that rot. Plus, it keeps the corners employed..."
This is like the DC councilman who said 'better to just be a victim than risk defending yourself."

Insane. Flat out 1984 war is peace insanity.

The police were right about one thing. When she fired into the air, she was part of the problem.

She should have put that lead center mass.

Yea, I don't agree with her firiing into the air all willy-nilly.

I can only imagine what would happen to her if she did shot/kill the guy.

He wouldn't have been able to testify against her.

OK, i will have to admit, sometimes i am not the sharpest blade in the shop but i am confused a little bit here.

Buyers and sellers both had guns. Sellers pulled theirs first, Buyers produce their gun and fire a shot in the air. Sellers escape scene with the buyers money and no gun. I am confused. Not sure how the attackers fled with the money and no gun. Obviously the bad guys weren't on site when the cops got there, i would have just told the cops the bad guys fired a shot and took our money and never mentione the fact that i was armed at all.

From another forum, a case search revealed she had multiple drug and hand gun violations. Turns out it was bad guys vs. bad guys??? I'm not going to say it was right firing the gun in the air, but look at it this way. She couldn't have pulled a cell phone out of her purse and called 911. When she fired the gun in the air the couple on the front porch watching it go down called 911. The Maryland gun law did not fail, criminals have illegal guns, and law abiding citizens cannot exercise their 2nd amendment rights and obtain a permit to carry a gun.
