Hollow points are the preferred round for police/security forces. They are far less likely to cause collateral damage by passing through the target.

The .40 S&W round has become a popular round used by police throughout the US. There's no reason to think that the federal cops/security would not be using the industry standard.

From what I understand, 50 rounds per month is far more than most cops would go through.

In the Navy, I don't think they had me fire more than 40 rounds of .45 or 7.62 per year in order to maintain my qualifications.

Don't know how often police have to practice to maintain their proficiency. Navy only had me qual once a year, if that, and that was minimal ammo; shotgun, M-16, .38 (in the old days) and .45 cal.

Yep, .45, M-14, and shotgun for me. The shotgun qual was funny - if you hit the water five times you qual'd.

Personal weapons maybe a couple hundred rounds a year. .45, M16..

Grease Guns were pulled out of "storage" and put a few thousand reounds down the barrel of those. People (as in Privates) couldn't load the magazines fast enough..

Crew Served weapon, like the 5.56 SAW, 7.62 M60 and M240, Ma Deuce, 25mm.. THOUSANDS a year.. OK, 25mm was MAYBE a thousand a year..

105mm and 120mm a couple hundred a year..
