So, cops gather around something. Someone tosses water on them. Senior officer gets pissed and hits the first person he sees. Halls that person off to jail for.....?.....interfering with an officer probably.

Look even more closely, and you will ntice nothing coming out of the bottle.

Look again and you'll notice that the guy who threw the water is what made the cop turn around and punch the first person he saw.

It's good to know you condone a "punch first, ask questions later" policy.

She was probably a b!tch, but that doesn't give cops the right to bust you in the mouth. Last I checked, tossing water on someone wasn't a crime.

Totally disagree with you. :shocker:

You can't tell if water was coming out or not. He saw her throwing water and clocked her. Tossing water IS a crime called assault, just like spitting on a cop is assault so you better "check" again.

Yes someone else threw water from behind but she was throwing it too and he saw her. She'll get no payday from Philly on that one.

So, you can obviously see the guy throwing water, but she was less than 3 feet away, and you somehow can't see the water she allegedly threw?

He didn't see her throw anything. His back was turned to her the entire time. The guy came out from the sidewalk, threw the water, and at that moment the cop turned around, saw her walking away, then clobbered her in the mouth. No questions asked.

Cops are supposed to be help to higher standard and not go flying off the hinges like some drunken bar fight. Regardless of if it was water, or spit, that's no reason for police to use force.

Yes, some cops are bullies and use excessive force... but I do not believe that to be the norm. That being said, I fully expect that our police force at times will have to react fast and make split second decisions in order to take out threats and to stay alive. People who put themselves in compromising positions that may end up at the receiving end of these split second decisions have usually made bad decisions which put them in harms way. This should not be held against the police and in fact the person should get a ticket for being stupid.

Wow. Heres my take:

Black cop, white shirt (all other cops are blues) with gold band on hat - senior cop on scene.

Turns around without even looking and whacks what appears to be a caucasion Latina to the ground.

Unless he had eyes in the back of his head, he was way out of line, and should be prosecuted.

But he will probably be at the head of the line at many Philly polls on Nov 6th, protected the NBPP's right to intimidate voters, as his union requires.

Tossing water on someone is considered assualt. Although I do agree I didn't see her doing anything except act like a dumbass by getting so close to the action she became a casualty!!!
