| Hey, lets hear it for the unions.... They stood their ground...wonder how those demands feel now. NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Hostess Brands -- the maker of such iconic baked goods as Twinkies, Devil Dogs and Wonder Bread -- announced Friday that it is asking a federal bankruptcy court for permission to close its operations, blaming a strike by bakers protesting a new contract imposed on them. The closing will result in Hostess' nearly 18,500 workers losing their jobs as the company shuts 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers nationwide. The bakers' union represents around 5,000. | Look what socialist policies are doing, killing more jobs: Wal-Mart workers plan Black Friday walkout Walkout builds on October strike that started at Wal-Mart in LA Wal-Mart workers plan Black Friday walkout | Money - Home A group of Wal-Mart workers are planning to stage a walkout next week on Black Friday, arguably the biggest holiday shopping day for the world's largest retail store. The walkout builds on an October strike that started at a Wal-Mart in Los Angeles and spread to stores in 12 other cities. More than 100 workers joined in the October actions. Not a Walmart fan, but I can see Walmart saying screw it, lets just close these stores. |

| Colorado and Washington will have record Hostess sales. I don't understand this though. The union only reprsents about 5,000 of the 15,000 employees. Hostess has already filed bankruptcy twice, so who knows.
