Is this sex discrimination?

Everyone probably knew this question was coming, so I will ask it. If a woman has a lower standard, cannot perform at the same level as a male, does she deserve the same pay? Or better yet, is she willing to take a lower rate of pay knowing she is not as physically able to do the job as her male counterpart?

That's what I don't understand about shows like "Cops." The LEO's chase the dealers and the other derelicts til they catch them; you can hear how out of breath they are.

ALL they have to do is say "FREEZE!" OR "STOP!" once.
If the runners don't quit running after that, shoot 'em in the leg.
Bet'cha they stop then.

If a woman performs better in other aspects of the job than a male officer, does he deserve less pay?

That's all there is to it.

I say yes. And, to answer your question as to physical standard for women, I already did. They should get 45 seconds extra on the 1.5 mile run based on the difference between men and women's world record in the mile.

I disagree. The question is what is required to perform the tasks that a cop needs to perform? If that leads to requirements that are so high that more women can't achieve them, so be it. The goal of the police is not to be diverse. The goal is to be police.

And no cops above the age of 50 because they likely can't do it anymore either. I have a friend who retired from the Prince Georges County Police Department and they paid them a certain amount if they were able to pass their fit test each year. Not a bad idea if you ask me. If we have police officers who are fit, then we spend less money on workman's comp injuries and retirements for officers getting hurt.
