This story was posted earlier, and brings me much sadness each time I read about it. Felons/criminals will acquire guns illegally, no matter what the laws, or how they are changed. My heart breaks for the families of the brave firefighters who were murdered, and the surviving and wounded firefighters, and displaced neighbors who have to deal with the horrible trauma, aftermath, and recovery. Just so, so sad. Prayers.

Bummer. I thought this thread was about Hollywood's mass murder instructional video for next month.

I’m trying to figure out if the thread is about yet another shooting with an assault rifle to justify banning them, or if it’s about how existing laws that ban guns from felons do not prevent felons/criminals from getting them in their hands.

Exactly! And, sadly, the Catch-22 will never change. We must all forge on the best we can.

Another epic fail of our judicial system

"Spengler, who served 18 years in prison for beating his 92-year-old grandmother to death with a hammer in 1981"

Instead of his ass being behind bars forever he was turned back out to wreak havoc on the general population. Should never have seen the outside of prison again and this situation would never have occurred.

IMO, when someone is released on parole, the senior member of the parole board should have to take said parolee into their home for the first six months.

No, no, no. The larger issue here is not being a former felon. If you serve your time, you should get your rights back. If you don't deserve your rights back, you haven't served enough time.

Once again, a story that has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with human behavior. The freaking guy burned down the neighborhood.

It has everything to do with guns. And you know what the agenda is. If you don’t, then I suggest you get back on the next flight to earth.
