This puzzles me. Why would they exclude a large capacity device for a .22? Sure, the .22 doesn't have the power of other calibers, but can still maim, inflict, kill.

I used to have a .22 Mossberg with a cylinder feed, could hold almost a whole box of .22s, I think it was 40 rounds.

I suspect it's because a whole lot of .22's have the tubular feed underneath the barrel that hold 15-18 rounds. The Glenfield Marlin 60 is one such example.

NBC4 just now reported on it confirming that DC police are "investigating" the incident, but that NBC has not made an official statement.
