I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but this seems odd.

Why is this Dad laughing seconds before almost breaking down, only when he knew cameras were on?

I've seen too many movies/tv shows because a conspiracy seems perfectly plausible to me.

Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore.

I always wonder about parents who have lost a young child in a tragic incident, then trot themselves out for the cameras and go on all the talk shows. I'm pretty sure I'd be sedated and in seclusion, not out chatting with Geraldo.

Everybody morns differently. Some become activists, some withdraw like you suggest, some go into depression, some sue (I don't know of you saw the first was filed), and everywhere in between. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one knows what I am taking about. You see the full spectrum in your family, and even yourself.

I don't see anything in that first video that is inconsistent with a father morning his child and trying to hold it together in public.

I do. He's laughing and joking, then presto changeo! He's choked up and trying to compose himself.

Looks pretty inconsistent to me. But I might just mourn differently.
