There was an excerpt on the local news last night about the subject of this thread. Quite a few people were calling in and complaining about the coverage of his funeral. I'm still in shock that so many people are up in arms about this and quite frankly, it disgusts me. It's too bad that some of these sorry excuses for human beings can't go a few days w/o their soap operas.

What I would like to know is which cable channels are they referring to? CNN, MSNBC, Fox News??? Those are the only ones I saw that had the funeral listed. Those are news stations. The funeral is a historic news event. Therefore, they cover it. The networks have news programs as well and cover historic news events. Why is that a problem? Oh no! They missed their soap operas.

Not really sure which cable channels they were referring to, but they sure have been complaining. It's history, they need to deal with it.

I think it is an overkill....sort of. Instead of all channels having the exact same thing on, why didnt they collaberate and so many do live coverage, others do tributes etc etc. Really there is no need for 10 channels to have the exact same thing.

And yes they do need to keep politics out of it. I just heard a comment "Regan gave the military a 7% pay raise, many people think Carter was weak on defense but he was going to give them a 5% raise if he got re-elected"

God I hate the press.
